Medieval and Early Modern collection
This collection of manuscripts from Rare Books and Special Collections covers curated items from the collection for the Medieval (5th to 15th century) through to the Early Modern period (15th to 18th Century).
The majority of these items were collected by Sir Charles Nicholson (1808-1903), one of the founders of the University of Sydney. Nicholson has been described as Australia's first great collector, and had a keen interest in classical studies and ancient history. This digital collection was created with the support of the Medieval and Early Modern Centre.
The Medieval and Early Modern collection first appeared in the Sydney Electronic Text and Image Service (SETIS) website.
